Understanding the Results of Testing
Your health care professional may have recommended testing to determine if you carry a mutation in one of the genes that causes Lynch syndrome. Results of this test are used to assess your personal risk of cancer. Because understanding your risk helps your doctor develop a plan of action to help minimize that risk, the results of any genetic test should be discussed with a qualified health care professional. Possible test results, what they mean, and follow-up options appear below.
